Chaand Chupa Badal Mein

At night when the stars light up my room, I sit by myself, talking to the moon.           Tonight is a very special night for me, and it's Kojagiri Pournima (Sharad Pournima as some might say). Ever since a child, year after year, we celebrate this day by sitting in the night flooded with the light of the full moon, drinking milk.  Since moon is supposed to be closest to the earth on this day, the moon rays are said to have curative properties. The vessel containing the sweet is prepared and left in the moonlight to be consumed later.           According to Ayurveda, the `pitta' or acidity aggravates at the end of the monsoon season. This is the reason why cooling foods are recommended to neutralise the pitta and balance it. The consumption of cold milk and rice flakes is supposed to be a good remedy for pitta.           Coming back , I remember my mother would make me sit by the window,...

Two truths and a Lie

I'm sure you've heard of this game. Well if not, let me tell you. A person tells you three things about himself. One of them is a lie and other two are true. You guess the lie, and thats it. I think our entire life can be categorised as two truths and a lie. We can guess the lie, but we also have 4 options, either believe its the truth or believe its a lie, even efter knowing the lie we can keep pretending it's the truth, and even if we know it's the truth, we say its a lie because we trust our instincts.               Haven't we all lied at some point ? Hell, I've lied just to stay back home because I was too lazy to go to school. Everybody lies. Everybody tells the truth, according to their convenience, or probably it's the truth. How do we know which one is which? Many promise to stay in touch and never stay. Many promise you the world but never try their best. Many people lie.Maybe its the tru...

Pursuit of Un-Happyness

Just yesterday I happened to watch a movie called Pursuit of Happiness. It led me to tears, then led me to smiles, and then lastly to a place where I was wondering. All our lives we strive to be happy. WE THINK going to a reputed college for education would make us happy. We think falling in love would make us happy. We think being successful in our our lives would make us happy. But only if it were true. Is is that only after doing or getting the thing we want makes us happy ? I couldn't help but wonder, if all the things I want are given to me right now, can I be blissfully happy and possibly want nothing more in life ?                Most of our lives revolve around work, relationships and money, but we still look for something. Still seek the one thing which possibly makes our lives happy. Still think that after I get a certain thing I'll be happy. It's not wrong to want s...

A Day where My Mom Gets 1k Subscribers on YT! 💯

21st September 2020  >  Over Everything  It's so surreal to watch our own family members grow. My heart swells by seeing her hard work. Hi !                      My mother is like the epitome of hard work. Nothing can stop her really when she's really into something, and always it has to be a little diffrent from everyone and everything. She settles for nothing less. This is  an appreciation post for my dear mumsie and  I'm super proud of her. She has done everything for her You Tube, from burning midnight oil to overcoming the fear of being judged. I wish I was more like her, in many ways. I hope I can make her proud some day.  Okay so I had no idea that she was so close to 1000 subscribers initially, but I knew that subscribers were kinda increasing thanks to her because she wouldn't stop tell me about it. But when she was close to her 1k I was more excited than her !   I think ever...

Saturday Fetish

Hiya ! So if you follow me on the gram I told you that I wasn't having a wonderful week (meh). I am quite honest about it as you can see. But on 12th of September I had the most amazing day in quite a long time. And maybe you'll say comeon Anu after you read this but here goes nothing.  I woke up I think at 8 am, and then had an awesome breakfast. Then it was a kinda regular day but the songs made it good. Then out of the blue mum comes home from work (which kinda happens very rarely) and said "lets go to our second home". The reasons of going there were obviously different and also I was visiting that place after a gazillion years so I said why not ? While I was going there firstly, Thank the Lord 🙏 it didn't rain and secondly I remembered everything like a tick.  There was a cute little space for a playground and walking area and a couple of amenities which every building must have. Now, anybody who knows me well, knows that whenever I'll see a playground, ...

Things I've learnt in 2020

It's hard to believe that we're already 4 months away from 2021 ! I know it's not yet over, but this year, 2020, has taught me all the things which do not require an entire year to be taught. So without being a little judgemental of this year, I've tried to learn. Learn what's still good, and what will help me in the future. 1. Health. PERIOD.              Can you believe it? ME? and health? I'm the least observant person when it comes to health. I always try to balance what I eat but I don't give it too much of a thought. That's why it doesn't show on my body. But that doesn't mean I take care of my health, well, consciously. This pandemic has surely taught me to take right decisions about my health in a more consious way, only after I made all the wrong choices. I even exercised, but only after I quit due to my laziness and anxiety did I knew that it was important. When I was hustling and struggling to make it to college on time before the pande...

Blurry Nights and Flower Whites 🌼

There have been trying times and there have been truely blissful moments in the past. One such moment was the ensemble of my first year at the university. Man, it was both 😂. Okay, let me just tell you an experience, honestly, being a fashion lover, I thought it would be so nice to dress up and attend the big night, and without even asking anyone what to wear, I wore a blue dress with white flowers on it, got ready, and dashed downstairs.  But, one of my friends was dressed up sooo casually, I second guessed that maybe I'm going a bit extra and I changed. Ugh, I remember being pissed at my college and the students who weren't extra-dressed. But anyway, I went to the college dressed in a jeans and my favorite brown T-shirt.Later I DID see a couple of students who were kinda dressed like me earlier. I thought, damn I should go home and change because I really wanted to like dress up for the event. I got home, dressed up yet again in that cute dress which made me think that I was...

Rise and Athleisure

For many of us who see me, whether I'm at college or doing whatever stuff have always seen me in athleisure. I just cannot live without it. Athleisure tops my go-to outfits ALL THE TIME ... and I mean it.  I know this quarantine and the pandemic has taken a toll on most of our lives and I can barely accept the fact that 2021 is only 4 months away. Keeping yourself healthy and working out has definitely been affected (obviously homemade mum's food is not something you can say no to, and also I tend to overeat just because my mom makes the most delicious food 💝).  To be honest I did workout in the beginning of the lockdown but I wasn't very consistent. But today being able to wear athleisure, I actually missed working out. Not that I'm crazy about workouts but, just like you feel after a workout ? I literally missed it.   So, I will definitely make sure to workout tomorrow ( obviously only to get into my athl...

Quarantine Qooking 🍰

I have ALWAYS loved baking as long as I can remember. Baking kind of soothes me, like reading books. When I initially started the process of baking (like about a year ago), man you wouldnt even guess what I was doing in the kitchen. All of my baking outcome was a ridiculous mess. I thought I  wasn't meant to bake AT ALL. But as and when I see the my refrigerator has all the ingredients needed for baking a cake, I just float towards it like a moth to a flame. I know I'm not a good baker, nor do I say I have all the qualities, but I can't unlove baking. I just can't. There are many things in life which we cannot (yet) do, and that does not mean we should stop doing it. There are times where you suck terribly, but you still gotta appreciate that you made an effort for something that you love. Love is not what you make. Love is what you are. If you love cooking,or dancing,or whatever in the world, do it for the sake of love within you.  💓 I'm still in the initial state...

20 going on 30

I know, I know. The title should be 13 going on 30 as it was one of my favourite movies when I was younger but hey! I can pass for 13 right ? Well my actions pass so ... meh 😅 . As you know (or maybe not) I turned 20 on 27th June, just a couple of weeks ago. On this day I didn't dress up, didn't even try applying make up for once. I am 'me' and it is extremely gratifying and liberating.     I was thinking we could get to know each other ! Okay, I'll go first.  Here are a couple of things of me :  1. I love chocolates !  2. I'm addicted to books. (Thorough potterhead )  3. I hate dishonesty.  4. I can't live without Masala Dosa and Uttappa.  5. I make mistakes.  I try to be as honest as I am through my blogs and this is my journey so far !  Excited for upcoming adventures 😉 Did I mention I like Balloons ? Tell me about you on Instagram ! Until we meet again💓  xoxo Anu

Declutter with Me

As the title suggests, let's do some closet cleaning in the given quarantine time!  If  your closet is organised, obviously its easier to find stuff. That's Basic right ? But what if I told you some of the wadrobe cleaning steps which will keep it much organised than the previous scenario, where everything was a mess ?  How you organize your closet will differ slightly based on the space you have, the size of your wardrobe, and the kind of life you lead. However, these five steps can be applied to any closet and any wardrobe : 1.  Spring Clean your Wadrobe.                                             You'll be surprised at how many pieces of clothes you've not worn for years. With the start of a new season, now is the time to donate or sell - you could even make some money on your spring clean. If you own a tiny wardrobe (like me !) you a...

For many of those lucky enough to be able to stay home during the coronavirus pandemic,  books have taken on a special meaning .   Hey guys! So I have been doing a lot of reading during this time and I thought to myself, why not share my favorite books. Lets see what I've been upto these last couple of days. My current favourite books which I'm reading aaare : Harry Potter          -J.K. Rowling          Obviously Harry Potter will always be on top of my list and there are too many reasons for it. This book takes you to so many places in your imagination that you didnt know existed.  I'm not going to bore you with the deets because you'll get to know whats in it after you read it.  2 States          -Chetan Bhagat         I had bought this book a looong time ago and this book is a must read too. This book is close to my heart ...

Self Quarantine And Anxiety

Corona aka Covid - 19 I think the title suggests exactly what I'm feeling right now. So, its my  Day - 6 of self quarantine and I'm paranoid , but calm (for now). It's such a crucial time for the humanity and the world we live in.     At first there was so much of a chaos and rumors floating around about this virus that people were scared, hell I  was scared too, but only information from the trusted sources came to the rescue.  WHO says:  Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.   Precautions : covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing,  not touching our face and self quarantine. We, toge...

Life Update

Traditional Day : 14th February 2020 Hey guys ! I hope you all had an AMAZING  start to the decade 2020. On the other hand , I had these exams which almost sucked the life outta me. Throughout the whole 4 months, I have been MIA (missing in action) and I apologize for that . I also had the most incredible time. I had my ensemble (which I'll be posting soooooon , promise), in which I participated (but not going to burst the bubble just yet). So instead, let's talk about the Traditional day. We all have traditional days in college right ? Just like that, it was scheduled. As usual , I didn't plan my outfit prior to the day (but my laziness is not to be blamed because i had participated in the ensemble ). Anyways just like I stole my mom's dresses when I was little and pretended to be a grown up, I stole one of her Paithani Sari which was perfect for the occasion. Take a look and tell me if I'm wrong about the sari or not. Hope you have a great day today ! ...

Tshirts and jeans pairings that'll save your day!

Hey guys! This is my first blog post so please bear with me ... and lets get started. As we all know that tshirts and jeans are an essential part of our wardrobe which we use daily or must certainly have as a part of our closet ..so why not style them differently and make your day by turning heads along the road ? For today I paired a stripped back t-shirt with a medium light blue denim jeans which is I guess essentially a part of regular wear ... I love Smokey eyes as this increases the oomph factor. The light pink lips also make the most of this outfit. We can also pair this outfit with white sneakers or the sandals that I have worn ... I love these sandals because they feel so wonderful ! For the second outfit: I have worn  a blue tshirt with a high waist Flare hem jeans with black heels and im in love with this oufit #ootd ...

Red Dress By Magic

Well, as I write this blog, its raining cats and dogs and I kinda miss summer.  I miss the sun on my skin.  So I thought, why not just create the vibe of it.  This outfit literally screams of summer. Let me tell you why. When I bought this dress, all I could make out of it was a beach. And sun. And tan. The list would go on and on about summer, and I'm not kidding, really. The dress I'm wearing can also be worn as an off shoulder summer-dress which is why it makes this dress perfect to wear.  I added little flowery earrings to go with the dress and some messy hair. I added black strappy sandals to go with the look. Beat that, rain! Ps: I'm sure you must have heard the song red dress. Enjoy the photos ! 💕 Do you miss summer too? Tell me on Instagram ! Until we meet again,  Anu
