Chaand Chupa Badal Mein

At night when the stars light up my room, I sit by myself, talking to the moon.           Tonight is a very special night for me, and it's Kojagiri Pournima (Sharad Pournima as some might say). Ever since a child, year after year, we celebrate this day by sitting in the night flooded with the light of the full moon, drinking milk.  Since moon is supposed to be closest to the earth on this day, the moon rays are said to have curative properties. The vessel containing the sweet is prepared and left in the moonlight to be consumed later.           According to Ayurveda, the `pitta' or acidity aggravates at the end of the monsoon season. This is the reason why cooling foods are recommended to neutralise the pitta and balance it. The consumption of cold milk and rice flakes is supposed to be a good remedy for pitta.           Coming back , I remember my mother would make me sit by the window,...

Saturday Fetish

Hiya ! So if you follow me on the gram I told you that I wasn't having a wonderful week (meh). I am quite honest about it as you can see. But on 12th of September I had the most amazing day in quite a long time. And maybe you'll say comeon Anu after you read this but here goes nothing.

I woke up I think at 8 am, and then had an awesome breakfast. Then it was a kinda regular day but the songs made it good. Then out of the blue mum comes home from work (which kinda happens very rarely) and said "lets go to our second home". The reasons of going there were obviously different and also I was visiting that place after a gazillion years so I said why not ? While I was going there firstly, Thank the Lord 🙏 it didn't rain and secondly I remembered everything like a tick.

There was a cute little space for a playground and walking area and a couple of amenities which every building must have. Now, anybody who knows me well, knows that whenever I'll see a playground, I'll go sit on a swing. So obviously, I went into the playground and sat on the swing. That was the first thing I did after coming down after seeing the apartment. Instantly I was so grateful that my butt could swing me back and forth and I could literally see a couple of people doing something, like they were actually playing badminton and walking and giggling.(with their masks on thankfully) & I think I needed just this. The breeze was on my face and I could look at the blue/cloudy sky. My mother was with me on the other swing before she took my picture. I felt happy after a really long time.I never wanted to leave but had to at the end of the day. Plus I got to eat gujju food (Dhokla) after coming back, which apparently became my dinner.

After six months I felt liberated. Little things make a huge difference. What is your favourite experience of the week  ? Even if its a little thing tell me, I'm here to listen. 😇
