Chaand Chupa Badal Mein

At night when the stars light up my room, I sit by myself, talking to the moon.           Tonight is a very special night for me, and it's Kojagiri Pournima (Sharad Pournima as some might say). Ever since a child, year after year, we celebrate this day by sitting in the night flooded with the light of the full moon, drinking milk.  Since moon is supposed to be closest to the earth on this day, the moon rays are said to have curative properties. The vessel containing the sweet is prepared and left in the moonlight to be consumed later.           According to Ayurveda, the `pitta' or acidity aggravates at the end of the monsoon season. This is the reason why cooling foods are recommended to neutralise the pitta and balance it. The consumption of cold milk and rice flakes is supposed to be a good remedy for pitta.           Coming back , I remember my mother would make me sit by the window,...

Autumn outfit ideas

Hola ! So as you can see all the leaves fallen on the ground and the air getting colder ... Its Fall !! So in Autumn we usually tend to be cozy and comfortable so why not make it fashion?  Its sweater season !!! What I love about this season is that even with many layers on .. I love the clothes that give warmth and relaxation and not trying to fit into some kind of stretchy clothes that may be uncomfortable.  And its so beautiful outside ! For the second outfit I wore a red skirt which had red and white zebra print or something which was really awesome and i paired it with black sweater and black studs. Dazzling Diwali and Dexterous Diyas

Diwali was just around the corner and as the title suggests, it was just as delightful as expected (though the tiring work of cleaning the entire house and prepping for Artis and Poojas and shopping at the last minute made it difficult to cram all of this in 4 days but well, it was so worth it !). Usually before Diwali we would paint the diyas and make rangolis but this year we were trapped by the mops and old clothes that were to be given to those who need them and a whole mess of cleaning up. There was Literally no time for us to do a decent shopping because I got very few holidays before and I still have many practicals and exams to give (still blogging tho) .. so the outfit which I wore was totally last minute and bought from various places and still it worked quite well. These were the earrings bought from the street shop which were so beautiful I was confused which one to wear. Though I had made a resolution almost 8 years ago not t...

K is for Karaoke and Kindness

31st October 2019 Thursday Yesterday we went to buy a laptop for me but there was some technical issue and we had to wait for an hour(We already had waited for an entire day but whatever) and we (me and my mum) decided to explore the heart of the city and we started walking down the street and after walking for which felt like an hour, we decided to eat something. So ask any typical Maharashtrian what is your favorite snack? and majority of them will say either a vada pav or a samosa. So we stuck with basics of snacking and went to street vendor and stuffed ourselves with not only samosa and a vada pav but also treated ourselves with cheese bites.  But before we started eating we heard a Ghazal -Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Me Khayal Ata Hai, and we were enjoying the peaceful melody. We thought somebody out there had a radio on for everyone to hear it. After finishing we went towards the sound and we were astounded. We saw a man singing those beautiful, heartfelt songs just to make ...
