Chaand Chupa Badal Mein

At night when the stars light up my room, I sit by myself, talking to the moon.           Tonight is a very special night for me, and it's Kojagiri Pournima (Sharad Pournima as some might say). Ever since a child, year after year, we celebrate this day by sitting in the night flooded with the light of the full moon, drinking milk.  Since moon is supposed to be closest to the earth on this day, the moon rays are said to have curative properties. The vessel containing the sweet is prepared and left in the moonlight to be consumed later.           According to Ayurveda, the `pitta' or acidity aggravates at the end of the monsoon season. This is the reason why cooling foods are recommended to neutralise the pitta and balance it. The consumption of cold milk and rice flakes is supposed to be a good remedy for pitta.           Coming back , I remember my mother would make me sit by the window,...

You can bet on net !

Although I'm usually the one to choose comfort over style, sometimes my need for fashion overpowers my need for comfort, especially when I crave to get into a pair of heels !  But today its all about net & comfort ofcourse. Now that we all have been in our pajamas for over like a week, it's time to whip something up and be pretty in black and netted ! For today I wore a black T-shirt which was a bit lengthy so I tied it in a knot with a rubber band (excellent jugaad for defining your waist, mind you) and a casual chic netted skirt with big polka dots.  Even a black cami can do the trick if you ask me. I hope you like the photos ! Follow me on Instagram xoxo,  Anu

20 going on 30

I know, I know. The title should be 13 going on 30 as it was one of my favourite movies when I was younger but hey! I can pass for 13 right ? Well my actions pass so ... meh 😅 . As you know (or maybe not) I turned 20 on 27th June, just a couple of weeks ago. On this day I didn't dress up, didn't even try applying make up for once. I am 'me' and it is extremely gratifying and liberating.     I was thinking we could get to know each other ! Okay, I'll go first.  Here are a couple of things of me :  1. I love chocolates !  2. I'm addicted to books. (Thorough potterhead )  3. I hate dishonesty.  4. I can't live without Masala Dosa and Uttappa.  5. I make mistakes.  I try to be as honest as I am through my blogs and this is my journey so far !  Excited for upcoming adventures 😉 Did I mention I like Balloons ? Tell me about you on Instagram ! Until we meet again💓  xoxo Anu

Jackets to the rescue (Part 2)

Hey guys! Let me just ask you, how are you doing ? Are you well ? I hope you are safe 😊. So talking about the jackets, there are two staple jackets which instantly make a difference to your wadrobe.  The first one is a leather jacket. These jackets are out of vogue, said no one ever. But even so you'd like to see the shape and how the chains are placed and how the jacket fits perfectly. You can pair them with a jeans and a basic T-shirt, or leather on leather etc. Leather jackets give your outfits a bit of a rock inspired edge. For an effortlessly chic look, this jacket is a must.   The second one is a Denim jacket. I simply cannot explain how it feels to wear any denim jacket over a casual look. It's versatile and can be the finishing touch to almost any outfit. There are various ways to wear a denim jacket, like denim on denim, or you can wear this with layering, non-blue denim, denim jacket with a dress, skirts, athleisure etc.  I have worn denim in denim in the fir...

Jackets to the rescue (Part 1)

This weather in Pune is a little weird to be frank. Sometimes it feels its hot, but then suddenly it starts feeling cold. Either way, the point is ... I love Jackets !😁 . I know its been a while since there was a chance that we'd wear them, but now's the time, isnt it?  The jackets that I've worn are a little formal I think but none the less we can say in vogue. I love the way these jackets turn anything we wear into something trendy.    The first jacket I've worn is a Quadra. This Jacket has the perfect texture to keep you warm enough in the cool breezy evenings.   The second one is the velvet jacket which in contrast with the first keeps me cool even in the blazing sun.  Follow me on Instagram  ! 💓 Until we meet again,  Anu

Red Dress By Magic

Well, as I write this blog, its raining cats and dogs and I kinda miss summer.  I miss the sun on my skin.  So I thought, why not just create the vibe of it.  This outfit literally screams of summer. Let me tell you why. When I bought this dress, all I could make out of it was a beach. And sun. And tan. The list would go on and on about summer, and I'm not kidding, really. The dress I'm wearing can also be worn as an off shoulder summer-dress which is why it makes this dress perfect to wear.  I added little flowery earrings to go with the dress and some messy hair. I added black strappy sandals to go with the look. Beat that, rain! Ps: I'm sure you must have heard the song red dress. Enjoy the photos ! 💕 Do you miss summer too? Tell me on Instagram ! Until we meet again,  Anu

Declutter with Me

As the title suggests, let's do some closet cleaning in the given quarantine time!  If  your closet is organised, obviously its easier to find stuff. That's Basic right ? But what if I told you some of the wadrobe cleaning steps which will keep it much organised than the previous scenario, where everything was a mess ?  How you organize your closet will differ slightly based on the space you have, the size of your wardrobe, and the kind of life you lead. However, these five steps can be applied to any closet and any wardrobe : 1.  Spring Clean your Wadrobe.                                             You'll be surprised at how many pieces of clothes you've not worn for years. With the start of a new season, now is the time to donate or sell - you could even make some money on your spring clean. If you own a tiny wardrobe (like me !) you a...

Hair Care 101

You know,  in this quarantine I've gotten a lot of time to take care of my hair. I think its time for some Self love !  Hair care is not just about a few standard hair products but lot more. I've always been asked about my hair being healthy (touch wood), so I'm sharing a couple of my secrets for long and healthy hair. Here they are : 1. Coconut oil / Almond oil.  I swear, these oils are a life saviour when used consistantly. I oil my hair atleast twice a week. I let my mum massage my scalp sometimes (obviously, it makes me feel special and giddy) at night and leave it overnight. Then I wash it off in the morning. Now I have normal hair so twice a week of oiling suffices. If you have dry hair, this really helps for nourishment of the scalp and also the hair looks healthy and shiny. But if you have greasy hair then maybe once a week of coconut oil massage will help. 2.Steaming. I dip my towel in hot water, squeeze the water out and twirl it and put it above my head f...

Orange Meringue

Hola ! Today kinda seemed like a dull day, so I thought why not add some sweetness to it just like a meringue.   I was missing something sparkly so I dressed up in an orange dress. This is an old dress which I had custom made from a local tailor for Diwali. The intricate design really brings out the texture and delicacy of the dress.  In this #ootd I wore black heels just to break the monochrome look. Also for the accessories I wore colourful earrings which were mostly orange and a golden watch.  I made a sparkly orange make up for the eyes as well. Tell me how would you style this dress on  Instagram . Hope you have a great day ! Till we meet soon,  Anushka

Tshirts and jeans pairings that'll save your day!

Hey guys! This is my first blog post so please bear with me ... and lets get started. As we all know that tshirts and jeans are an essential part of our wardrobe which we use daily or must certainly have as a part of our closet ..so why not style them differently and make your day by turning heads along the road ? For today I paired a stripped back t-shirt with a medium light blue denim jeans which is I guess essentially a part of regular wear ... I love Smokey eyes as this increases the oomph factor. The light pink lips also make the most of this outfit. We can also pair this outfit with white sneakers or the sandals that I have worn ... I love these sandals because they feel so wonderful ! For the second outfit: I have worn  a blue tshirt with a high waist Flare hem jeans with black heels and im in love with this oufit #ootd ...
