Chaand Chupa Badal Mein

At night when the stars light up my room, I sit by myself, talking to the moon.           Tonight is a very special night for me, and it's Kojagiri Pournima (Sharad Pournima as some might say). Ever since a child, year after year, we celebrate this day by sitting in the night flooded with the light of the full moon, drinking milk.  Since moon is supposed to be closest to the earth on this day, the moon rays are said to have curative properties. The vessel containing the sweet is prepared and left in the moonlight to be consumed later.           According to Ayurveda, the `pitta' or acidity aggravates at the end of the monsoon season. This is the reason why cooling foods are recommended to neutralise the pitta and balance it. The consumption of cold milk and rice flakes is supposed to be a good remedy for pitta.           Coming back , I remember my mother would make me sit by the window,...

A Day where My Mom Gets 1k Subscribers on YT! 💯

21st September 2020  >  Over Everything  It's so surreal to watch our own family members grow. My heart swells by seeing her hard work. Hi !                      My mother is like the epitome of hard work. Nothing can stop her really when she's really into something, and always it has to be a little diffrent from everyone and everything. She settles for nothing less. This is  an appreciation post for my dear mumsie and  I'm super proud of her. She has done everything for her You Tube, from burning midnight oil to overcoming the fear of being judged. I wish I was more like her, in many ways. I hope I can make her proud some day.  Okay so I had no idea that she was so close to 1000 subscribers initially, but I knew that subscribers were kinda increasing thanks to her because she wouldn't stop tell me about it. But when she was close to her 1k I was more excited than her !   I think ever...

Blue Hues

It's nice na ? to experiment ? To be something more than what you were , aka your old self.  Whether you like something or not, it's decided when you are willing to experiment. I'm super skeptical to make any change but yet again, I tried. Tell me in the comments below whether you like to experiment or not. I did experiment with my make-up (as you can see in the photos), I wore a green eyeliner for the very first time in my entire life. I did such minimal makeup that I'm not able to distinguish between the no make-up look (lol). Also, all the while I was missing something traditional (I had stayed in my pj's for so long that it's UNBELIEVABLE ).I wore big silver earrings with delicate flowers on it. This dress was an old purchase for mom which I stole from her wadrobe (no surprises there obviously). It was raining so I *tried* some artsy pictures.  Tell me how do you like my ootd ?  Follow me on Instagram !  Bye for now,  Anu

Beige Please !

Hehehehe ... See what I did there for the title ? 😂 I do have a tendancy of laughing at my own jokes.  Well, jokes apart, beige is a go-to colour for everyone. It's a very muted colour and also the most influential colour. By influential I meant it goes with anything and everything. It can be used to make the look a little muted or subtle. Any color will go with beige, but you gave to be a little subtle for that. May it be blue or green, but style it a little diffrently, and it will give you an edge. Its pouring really heavily outside and I won't mind a cup of hot chocolate and a cozy oversized beige sweater and a sofa in which I can live forever.  In today's outfit I have worn a blue skirt and a beige sweater. It's kinda an oversized sweater so I did the classic tug and roll underneath with a rubber band ( which btw I have lost it yet again. I swear rubber bands have invisible legs and the minute I remove them they run away from me. Relatable anyone? ). Also I have th...

Current Favorites for Healthier skin

Winter is coming. . . . I'm not talking about Game of Thrones. (Although am I ?). I was reffering to the fuss all girls (and to some extent even boys, but its normal, I'm not prejudiced) make when the winter arrives and how it affects their skin.  As I said in my earlier blogposts, I do not use too many products since I believe minimalism is the key to skincare and also partially because my skin is super sensitive, but I do like some products. Even though I don't use them regularly, I would definitely recommend it.  1. Clinique Moisture Surge.  I was a little sceptical before buying this gel-crème but I'm super happy I bought it. Sometimes my skin gets dry and this cream is just absolutely beautiful. Its my second luxury product for skincare (can be used as a day/night cream) and I defintely use it atleast 3-4 times a week. It's a 72 hour auto-replenishing hydrator and stands by on what it preaches. This cream hydrates the skin and makes it look juicy ...

Saturday Fetish

Hiya ! So if you follow me on the gram I told you that I wasn't having a wonderful week (meh). I am quite honest about it as you can see. But on 12th of September I had the most amazing day in quite a long time. And maybe you'll say comeon Anu after you read this but here goes nothing.  I woke up I think at 8 am, and then had an awesome breakfast. Then it was a kinda regular day but the songs made it good. Then out of the blue mum comes home from work (which kinda happens very rarely) and said "lets go to our second home". The reasons of going there were obviously different and also I was visiting that place after a gazillion years so I said why not ? While I was going there firstly, Thank the Lord 🙏 it didn't rain and secondly I remembered everything like a tick.  There was a cute little space for a playground and walking area and a couple of amenities which every building must have. Now, anybody who knows me well, knows that whenever I'll see a playground, ...

Things I've learnt in 2020

It's hard to believe that we're already 4 months away from 2021 ! I know it's not yet over, but this year, 2020, has taught me all the things which do not require an entire year to be taught. So without being a little judgemental of this year, I've tried to learn. Learn what's still good, and what will help me in the future. 1. Health. PERIOD.              Can you believe it? ME? and health? I'm the least observant person when it comes to health. I always try to balance what I eat but I don't give it too much of a thought. That's why it doesn't show on my body. But that doesn't mean I take care of my health, well, consciously. This pandemic has surely taught me to take right decisions about my health in a more consious way, only after I made all the wrong choices. I even exercised, but only after I quit due to my laziness and anxiety did I knew that it was important. When I was hustling and struggling to make it to college on time before the pande...

Tshirts and jeans pairings that'll save your day!

Hey guys! This is my first blog post so please bear with me ... and lets get started. As we all know that tshirts and jeans are an essential part of our wardrobe which we use daily or must certainly have as a part of our closet ..so why not style them differently and make your day by turning heads along the road ? For today I paired a stripped back t-shirt with a medium light blue denim jeans which is I guess essentially a part of regular wear ... I love Smokey eyes as this increases the oomph factor. The light pink lips also make the most of this outfit. We can also pair this outfit with white sneakers or the sandals that I have worn ... I love these sandals because they feel so wonderful ! For the second outfit: I have worn  a blue tshirt with a high waist Flare hem jeans with black heels and im in love with this oufit #ootd ...

Red Dress By Magic

Well, as I write this blog, its raining cats and dogs and I kinda miss summer.  I miss the sun on my skin.  So I thought, why not just create the vibe of it.  This outfit literally screams of summer. Let me tell you why. When I bought this dress, all I could make out of it was a beach. And sun. And tan. The list would go on and on about summer, and I'm not kidding, really. The dress I'm wearing can also be worn as an off shoulder summer-dress which is why it makes this dress perfect to wear.  I added little flowery earrings to go with the dress and some messy hair. I added black strappy sandals to go with the look. Beat that, rain! Ps: I'm sure you must have heard the song red dress. Enjoy the photos ! 💕 Do you miss summer too? Tell me on Instagram ! Until we meet again,  Anu
